The influence of surface defect of chrome steel ball on bearing performance

Nov 12, 2019

The cracks, scratches, rust and dents on the surface of chrome steel ball caused by machining, rust corrosion or raw materials are collectively referred to as surface defects. The chrome steel ball is not allowed to have surface defects, because the surface defects of the chrome steel ball will stimulate the bearing pulse vibration, which will generate vibration and noise when the bearing rotates. The period of the pulse is inversely proportional to the speed of the bearing, and the amplitude is related to the size of the defect. It is found that the larger the surface defect of chrome steel ball is, the higher the vibration value of bearing is.
