The steel ball bearing is a kind of rolling bearing. The spherical alloy ball is installed in the middle of the inner ring and the outer ring. It reduces the friction in power transmission process and improve the transmission efficiency of mechanical power in the rolling way. The steel ball bearing can not bear the heavier load, more common in light industrial machinery.
The steel ball bearing mainly contains four basic components: ball, inner ring, outer ring and retainer. General industrial steel ball bearings meet AISI 52100 standard. The steel ball and the ring are usually made of high chrome steel and the Rockwell hardness is range from HRC 61 to HRC 65.
And the hardness of the retainer is lower than the steel ball and the ring. Its material includes the metal (such as: medium carbon steel, aluminum alloy) or non-metallic (such as: Teflon, PTEF, polymer material). The rotational frictional resistance of the rolling bearing is smaller than the journal bearing. So the temperature generated by the friction is relatively lower at the same speed.
The steel ball bearing is generally used in low-load mechanical transmission equipment. The bearing area of the steel ball bearing is small and it is prone to serious mechanical damage in the case of high-speed operation. So in the heavy-duty mechanical transmission it often uses the needle roller bearing to increase the bearing surface, improving the mechanical transmission efficiency and reducing the mechanical damage.
The steel ball bearing changes the friction of the bearing, using rolling friction. This way reduces the friction phenomenon between the bearing surfaces more effectively, enhancing the life of the fan bearing. Therefore, the radiator life is extended. The disadvantages are that the process is more complex, the cost increases. Meanwhile, it brings the higher work noise.
